Everything to Know About Florida’s Best Theme Parks: Disney World and Universal Orlando

Planning a vacation in Florida and not visiting two of its best theme parks is a crime. Miles away from each other, both Disney World and Universal have always been the kings of theme parks. Here is everything you need to know about both these parks.

The Theme Parks

The famous Disney World has two water parks, four theme parks, an entertainment center, a shopping center, and dining. There’s a lot to explore here like the Magic Kingdom, the beautiful Cinderella Castle, and the well-known Disney Studio, where movies like Star Wars come to life. Unlike Disney, Universal has two theme parks, one water park, and a dining and entertainment district. For all the Harry Potter and Jurassic Park lovers, Universal is for you.

Restaurants and Eateries

There are many restaurants in Disneyland that are based on Disney themes. One can easily find a fine dining place or a quick-serve at Disney. But the most beautiful place to eat is Cinderella’s Royal Table at the Magic Kingdom, where you get a chance to enjoy a royal feast. For something fancier, the Japanese A5 Wagyu is a great choice. At Universal, inspired by Dr. Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham Cafe serves Who Hash, which is as delicious as described in the book. If you want to dine with Harry Potter and his friends, the Leaky Cauldron or the Three Broomsticks is the place to go.

Hotels and Accommodations

Both theme parks have a lot of luxurious resorts around them that have transportation facilities to all the parts of the parks. There are around 24 resorts, including deluxe hotels and budget-friendly ones, in and around Disney World, whereas Universal has eight, and two of those are within walking distance. There are boats and buses available for transportation. These resorts have on-site coffee shops and spacious pools for guests to come and relax after a long day.

Attractions and Rides

The Avatar Flight of Passage is one of Disney World’s most popular attractions. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a stunning attraction point with state-of-the-art technology and is a must-visit. This family-friendly theme park is more focused on story-telling than thrills. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the most well-known attraction at Universal. It’s so beautifully designed that the fictional characters will seem real to you. Jurassic World-inspired VelociCoaster is the newest addition at Universal. Some of the other adventurous rides at Universal are the Incredible Hulk Coaster and Mummy: The Ride. Keep in mind that, unlike Disney, Universal is more suitable for adults and older kids since there are certain height requirements.

Natural Tree Bridges In India Survived For Over 100 Years

The green hills of Meghalaya state can be a treacherous trek to embark on. The area is clogged with jungle undergrowth and greased down with mud. During the monsoon rains, foot trails are filled with waterfalls and impassable rivers. Trying to navigate through these natural obstacles – in a climate where rainwater rises to 40 feet every year – requires great shape, years of experience, problem-solving skills, and mostly just a lot of guts.

The Living Tree Bridge

People who trek these paths can witness one of the most beautiful phenomena nature can create. The living tree-root bridges of the Cherrapunji region is the locally abundant rubber tree. It produces strong rope-like aerial roots that, when lashed onto a hollowed trunk or tied to bamboo stalks, can be trained patiently over decades to grow horizontally across steep ravines and riverbanks. The roots form the rods that are supporting the footbridges and can hold up to 50 people at a time.

Stronger Than Metal Or Concrete

Contrary to the living tree root bridges, modern wood or steel bridges rot quickly. By contrast, the tree root bridge can endure up to 500 or 600 years and grow stronger over time. This structure is a rare collaboration between the human imagination and the growing muscles of nature. The bridge can carry the human body’s weight in a flexible way that concrete and metal never could. Through the living tissue of this tree bridge you can feel the immense power of joined trees.

A Little History

Some of the bridges of Cherrapunji grew when the kingdom of Ahom, invaders of what is today Mayanmar, ruled over the Meghalaya hills. They used the trees to build a bridge for walkers who were carried through, while a corrupt British colonial trader named Harry Inglis terrorized the people of the frontier region. If you’re an avid trekker, this is one adventure you will not want to miss.
