When we were kids, many of us dreamed of being a grown-up. With our childish brains, we thought that when we were adults, we could do whatever we wanted. With adulthood comes freedom, money, and absolute power. Right? Wrong. Whilst adulthood might look rosy from a child’s perspective, the reality is often bleaker. We turned to Reddit to hear about the downsides of being an adult so that teenagers know what life truly has in store for them.

The Honest Truth

When you’re a kid or a teenager, you might be asked to help out with some chores. Maybe you clear the plates from the table each evening after dinner, or perhaps you take out the trash at the end of the night. However, chores take on a new meaning when you’re an adult, because they’re always your responsibility.

Annoyingly, constantly eating meals means constantly washing dishes. And sure, dishwashers are great, but they also have to be filled and emptied on a daily basis. Phew!
